Blog #4 #1: Chosen Character I decide to choose Maxwell from the Scribblenauts series for the character that I wanted to play some Tropes with.  #2: How Fits with Tropes When looking over a lot of the reading, I noticed as he fits fairly well with some of the tropes that were listed such as: Justified: He fits this through himself being one of the only two people who holds the notebook that can save the world. The other being his doubleganger. This gives a in universe reason why he is in the story. Inverted: He fits with this due to him being blamed for crimes throughout the story but in the end the crimes carried out were do to his doubleganger that posed as Maxwell which convinced others he was responsible making him the victim like the reading explains about the butler example Enforced: The creators give the player multiple ways to solve the puzzles which implies that they like to make the player enjoy the imaginative side of the game. Played for Drama: The reason Maxwell needs

Blog #3 Shape:      The major shapes that are shown through my character is the triangle and the square/rectangle. The main body and and the two pieces of clothes on the side of my character have the shape of a triangle/Square representing them. The arms, legs, and head I found were some what represented by triangle.  My picture:  Scale:      Based on the reading, it lists many different ways that the scale of your character may be explained such as the questions about expression, the importance of realistic movement, the silliness and seriousness of your game, and the visual angle of your game (Sivers). The idea in which my character is to base on scale is that the more pacts that he successfully carries out can determine if he and his power grow larger, and the creatures he turns into pay be bigger than his original form. In addition, because he doesn't have much of a face, expression is not shown to well in this type of game. He is also not always going to be the same size as

Physical Character (what does your character "look like", and also includes things the character has/holds/wears?) My character looks like an ink black humanoid creature  with its head shapped like a helmet with no actual face inside of it. It is similar to like the dark looking back as you peer deeper into it. He holds onto his lotus backpack with stong string used as straps to hold the backpack. He uses the backpack which blossoms once her tries to take on another form which that represents a creature of the dark such as an owl or a bear. He also brings around his Pact compass which holds the location of those who have not had pacts fulfilled or completed yet. Sociological Character (what is the background / present conditions of your character?) The Character is born to be a small entity that is weak in power, but has the ability to the power of natural spirits to fulfill tasks. However my character dreams to one day be able to become a grand and powerful being. However in

Blog 1: Uncanny Valley & Sketches

Cade Boden August 29, 2021 Quick Poses Sketches 1.  I drew many sketches on Quick Poses, however I feel after I watched the videos I was able to get a keen understanding of how to draw the structure of a human pretty quickly and make a rough outline. Out of the sketches I made I believe these two ended up being my best. Uncanny Valley and Game Characters   When I went around campus searching for items and places of interest I was able to think of 3 sketches based on what I came across that would avoid the concept of Uncanny Valley. Based on the article What is Uncanny Valley?  It described the concept of uncanny valley to be the area that turns something from being close to human into something off turning or very creepy (Caballar, 2019). The characters I created for this were  These different images were based off of an elevator in the communication building, and a trash can in the Wanek building.   I felt these avoided the uncanny valley concept for different reasons. The trash can I
